Passenger Killed in Waynesboro Crash is a Stark Reminder of Why Reducing Speed at a Curve is So Important

Comments Off

A 2002 Toyota four-door was traveling down Va. 231 in Madison County when it approached a curve. Unfortunately, reports indicate that the driver did not slow down while making the curve and wound up losing control of the vehicle. The vehicle then slammed into a tree with its passenger side.

As a result, the passenger in the vehicle, James A. Tubbs lost his life. He was only 27 years old.

My deepest condolences go out tot the Tubbs family. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but the pain is made that much worse when the loss is sudden and totally unexpected.

The incident occurred one mile south of Hughes River Road near Rappahannock County, according to newsleader.com. Both the driver and Mr. Tubbs were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Investigators believe that speed was a key factor in the fatal crash.

This tragic wreck is a stark reminder of how important it is to exercise caution and slow down when approaching a curve. Throwing caution to the wind and speeding around a curve can, as illustrated by this crash, have devastating consequences. It is also the law to slow down when approaching a curve:
