Chrysler stated today that it will recall 650,000 Jeep and Dodge SUVs in the US due to vanity mirror lights that can short circuit, which can lead to a fire.

The recall has been issued for certain types of 2011-14 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs. Chrysler stated that the problem seems to occur only in lighted sun visor mirrors that have undergone previous repair. However, the auto manufacturer is taking the precaution of recalling all of these vehicles.

Chrysler stated that it knows of three injuries that were caused by the mirror. The company stated that it will reach out to customers by mail and let them know when and where the SUVs can be repaired.

The recall will affect 895,000 SUVs around the globe. About 45,000 of the SUVs are in Canada, 23,000 are in Mexico, and 170,000 are outside the US.
