Ovarian cancer has killed many notable women over the last several decades. Just how many of these women used baby powder containing talc? Only their loved ones and family members may know the answer.
Take someone like Gilda Radner who died at the very young age of 42 due to ovarian cancer. We may never know whether she was a Johnson & Johnson talc baby powder user. Same goes for folksinger Laura Nyro who died at age 49 from ovarian cancer, or Dr. Rosalind Franklin, the British chemist who helped discover the double helix, who died at age 37.

All these notable women either survived, or died, from ovarian cancer:
- Gilda Radner- American actress/comedian (Saturday Night Live; died at age 42)
- Kathy Bates- successfully battled ovarian cancer since her diagnosis in 2003. In September 2012, she revealed via Twitter that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier and had undergone a double mastectomy.
- Carol Channing – she is an ovarian cancer survivor.
- Madeline Kahn – American actress, singer and comedian (died at age 57)
- Coretta Scott King – American civil rights activist; widow of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. (died at age 78)
- Jessica Tandy – Oscar-winning (Driving Miss Daisy) British-born American stage, film and television actress (died at age 85)
- Natalie “Nan” Cornell Rehnquist – wife of US Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist (died October 17, 1991 at age 62)
- Laura Nyro – American singer-songwriter (died at age 49)
- Dixie Lee- American singer; first Mrs. Bing Crosby (died three days before her 41st birthday)
- Myra Nathalie Kraft- (née Hiatt; December 27, 1942 – July 20, 2011), wife of businessman and owner of the New England Patriots football team, Robert “Bob” Kraft
- Dr. Rosalind Franklin – British chemist and crystallographer, linked to discovery of the shape of the double helix of DNA (died at age 37)
The evidence is clear – talc in baby powder becomes respirable, and is causing ovarian cancers.
The chemical makeup of talc is quite similar to asbestos which is known as a terrible carcinogen. The companies that sold baby powder with talc have known for decades that it was potentially connected to cancers and what if some of our most famous actresses and other brilliant women that suffered ovarian cancer contracted it from the insidious talcum powder in what was supposedly safe and harmless Johnson and Johnson baby powder?
As I have written in a number of articles, be sure that you do not have baby powder or foot powder containing talc, discard any such products and if you want to use such a drying powder, get one that contains corn starch and no talcum powder. Men should beware of the foot powders that contain talc, it could be that medicine is going to discover that talc in foot powders has been a cause of other forms of cancers besides ovarian cancer.
