A runaway construction truck barreled down a hill in Hillsborough, North Carolina, running into a house and killing a five year old boy.
The tragic work truck accident happened in the new Forest Ridge subdivision in Hillsborough, near US 70.
Hillsborough police reported that construction crews were loading the back of the work truck at 1 pm on Dec. 26 when it started to roll. No one was in the cab when it began to roll down the hill. It eventually rolled through the family’s front yard and driveway and slammed into their home.
A group of children were playing in the driveway, and one boy was unable to get out of the way.
One worker has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Even though the man was no behind the wheel, he was named as the responsible party.
