Last Saturday afternoon a serious crash occurred in Concord, North Carolina that sent four people to the hospital. The crash is still under investigation, so no one has been blamed for the collision yet.

The two vehicle accident happened just prior to noon when an SUV and a car collided at the intersection of Highway 29 and McGill Road in Concord, North Carolina. Local police have reported that two people inside the car have serious injuries. Also, it has been reported that some of the victims are teenagers.

There have been controversial studies that have shown that SUVs present a danger to other drivers on the road. Federally sponsored studies have shown that car occupants are more likely to be killed when struck with by a SUV than by another car. However, many SUV drivers say they buy the big vehicles because they say it gives them an added sense of security. Ironically, due to their higher setting and heavier weight, they are more likely to roll over when coming to a quick stop or swerving to avoid an accident.
