Tragedy struck a North Carolina family at a recent day at the pool.

A 5-year-old boy drowned Wednesday evening at the North Hills Club in Raleigh, police said.

According to the report, a large party of about 50 people was going when the incident occurred. There were four lifeguards on duty.

The child had gone to the pool around 6 p.m. with his aunt and uncle, a pool spokesperson said. The adults were near the kiddie pool with another child when the 5-year-old somehow wandered into the big pool just after 7 p.m.

Another swimmer spotted the child at the bottom of the pool. Lifeguards pulled him out of the water and performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

Paramedics transported the child by ambulance to WakeMed, where he died. Police have not released his name. A club spokesman says the drowning was a terrible accident. The pool was closed Thursday, but it is expected to reopen tomorrow.

A personal injury lawyers handling catastrophic and  wrongful death cases, there is nothing worse for us to deal with than the grief  a parent suffers to lose a child-especially if the loss may be caused by  carelessness.  In this case, it is unclear if there was a failure of any of  the lifeguards or supervising caregiver but the loss to the family is  devestating and helping a family in this type situation is a sacred duty for our  lawyers.
