The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a report of a voluntary recall for over 500,000 cribs. There is a concern about potential injury.
According to the CPSC, the cribs are equipped with metal brackets that are used to support the crib mattress. The brackets can break, causing a gap between the mattress and crib rails which the child can fall in to and become injured.
The baby cribs involved in the recall were sold at retailers nationwide and online. Retailers include: K-Mart, Wal Mart, Amazon.com, and Costco.com. CPSC recommends anyone who owns one of these cribs discontinue use immediately.
If you have a concern about a crib in your home, please contact the CPSC, the store, or the manufacturer before continuing use.
